Peppermint White Hot Chocolate

What other flavor says holiday season like peppermint? Candy canes, peppermint bark, and peppermint mocha lattes are some of my favorites. it’s also a great flavor to add to warm winter drinks like hot chocolate.

This recipe was made with white chocolate but could easily be made as a regular hot chocolate by swapping out the white chocolate chips for your preferred type of chocolate chips. Make it sweeter with milk or semi-sweet chocolate or a little more rich and bitter with dark chocolate.

This recipe may seem a little complicated for a cocktail but it’s really quite easy and only takes about 5 minutes to make.

Candy Cane Infusion

The most essential part of this cocktail in the peppermint flavored spirit. There are different seasonal peppermint vodkas on the market but if you can’t find them or have extra vodka available then this is incredibly easy to make yourself.

To make the candy cane infusion just add candy canes to a jar of vodka (about 2-3 for 4-8 ounces of vodka) and allow to sit for a few hours, or overnight, until the candy canes dissolve. You will be left with a beautiful red and minty liquid.

This infusion can be added to lattes, hot chocolates, martinis and so many other holiday cocktails.
