Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Blanco Tequila
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce Cointreau
  • 1/2 oz agave or simple syrup
  • 1/2 ounce dry red wine such as Cabernet Sauvignon

Method

  1. Pour the Blanco Tequila into the shaker.
  2. Add the freshly squeezed lime juice to the shaker.
  3. Add the Cointreau to the shaker.
  4. Add ice to the cocktail shaker
  5. Cap the shaker securely and shake vigorously for fifteen seconds until the outside of the metal tin grows frost-cold.
  6. Strain the cold margarita liquid through a Hawthorne strainer into a coupe glass.
  7. Hold a bar spoon upside down directly over the top of the cocktail glass.
  8. Gently pour the dry red wine over the back of the inverted spoon so it floats across the top of the drink.
