These days, the milk aisle is seriously overwhelming. Almond, cashew, rice, coconut. It’s like you can make milk out of anything. Have you tried oat milk yet? Because it sounds very weird. Someone just decided to blend up oats and water and then..drink..it?
Well, that person is a genius because oat milk is something special. It has this cozy flavor that I find difficult to describe. It’s light and ever so sweet but definitely tastes different than any other milk I’ve tried.

It’s also very trendy right now. Oat milk is dairy-free and nut-free so every corner coffee shop is adding oat milk lattes to their menus. Thankfully, so is Rise Brewing Co! They make my favorite on-the-go canned coffee and lattes.
I got to try their new Oat Milk Latte and my first thought was “yeah, let’s add booze.”

Before you start whipping out the ingredients to make this drink, make sure you have these essential bar tools in your kitchen first (or shop for them here):

For this drink, I use a seriously under utilized ingredient – mead! Mead is essentially wine made from honey and it’s so delicious. It’s on the sweeter side so if you don’t have mead in your liquor cabinet, you could use a riesling or even an ice wine.
Side Note: If you’re ever in Savannah, Georgia, I highly recommend doing a mead tasting at Savannah Bee Company.
For the lavender liqueur, I used Wildmoon Liqueurs but you could also use a lavender syrup.
This latte is the perfect compliment to a Saturday brunch with friends or perhaps even an after dinner dessert. Use code StockUp10 for 10% off your order at Rise Brewing Co !
Want to make it a mocktail? You can still enjoy these flavors in your Monday morning coffee. Just use honey syrup in place of mead and lavender syrup in place of the liqueur.
