This refreshing and fruity take on the mojito is a great way to use those fresh summer berries in a cocktail. Mint is also plentiful in the summer months and it’s a great time to make different mojito variations.
What is a Mojito?
A mojito is a refreshing classic Cuban cocktail. It is made with white rum, fresh mint leaves, lime juice, simple syrup, and club soda. For a classic mojito, muddle the mint, syrup (or sugar) lime juice, add rum, fill with ice, top with club soda, and garnish with a mint sprig and lime wheel.

What is Muddling?
Muddling is a bartending technique used to release the flavors and aromas of certain ingredients, like herbs or fruits, in cocktails. It involves gently crushing or bruising the ingredients to extract their essential oils and juices, which enhances the overall taste of the drink.
Sugar Alternatives
Mojitos can often call for either sugar or a simple syrup. If you want to cut down on your sugar you can use a sugar alternative like Splenda. You can also make your own simple syrup using a sugar alternative instead of sugar.
What kind of glassware to use
Using a tall glass for drinks like a mojito and other drinks with bubbles is important because it allows the bubbles to fully develop and rise to the top, creating a beautiful and enjoyable visual display. Plus, the tall shape of the glass allows you to add more ice and liquid without spilling, making it easier to enjoy every last sip. I love these glasses from Libbey.

Other Mojito Recipes To Try
Don’t you hate when you get a hankering for a fresh, tasty cocktail, but you’re missing one or two ingredients from every recipe you find? I love this recipe because it’s made with ingredients that you’re likely to already have in your refrigerator. Nothing fancy – just fruit, rum and club soda! Don’t forget the mint.
Mojitos are my jam lately. Something about lime and rum makes the mint taste so refreshing and even tangy. This one is great to have while laying by the pool or watching the sun set. Strawberries are the best late in the summer but why not mix yourself up one of these in the winter when you’re dreaming of warmer days?
