Wash and hull 2 cups of fresh strawberries, then chop them.
In a saucepan, combine the strawberries with 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar.
Bring to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally, then simmer for 10-15 minutes until the strawberries are soft and the mixture thickens slightly.
Remove from heat, allow to cool.
Strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a jar.
