How To Make A Hibiscus Paloma Drink
The main ingredient that gives this cocktail its unique flavor is hibiscus syrup. To make this, you’ll need 1 cup of water, 1 cup of sugar, and 1/2 cup of dried food-grade hibiscus flowers. First, boil the water in a small saucepan and add the sugar and hibiscus flowers, stirring well until the sugar is dissolved.
Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat to let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bottle or jar, and your hibiscus syrup is ready to use.

To make the cocktail, fill a glass with ice and add 2 oz of tequila or tequila alternative (if you prefer a mocktail version). Add 1 oz of grapefruit juice and 3/4 oz of hibiscus syrup, and stir well. Top the glass with grapefruit soda until it’s filled to the brim. Give it another good stir, and you’re ready to drink up.

If you’re not a fan of grapefruit soda or if it’s not available in your area, you can substitute it with club soda and a splash of grapefruit juice. This will give the cocktail a similar flavor, but it won’t be as sweet.
For an extra burst of flavor, you can add a pinch of salt to the rim of the glass before pouring the cocktail. This will enhance the sweetness of the hibiscus syrup and balance out the tartness of the grapefruit juice.
